Game 4, originally set for yesterday afternoon. Rain was in the forecast (this was known all week), but the MLB and TBS decided to keep the time unchanged. So, instead of the Cubs seeing Tanner Roark, they faced a much better Stephen Strasburg and lost 5-0.
Strasburg was untouchable, just like game 1. He struck out twelve batters, including striking out the side in three separate innings. Cubs only managed to grab three hits, in what could have been their final home game of the season.
After Jon Lester came on in relief, the energy was back in Wrigley Field. Lester pitched 3 2/3 scoreless innings before he was pulled by Joe Maddon. This was a bad mistake by Maddon. Lester had just given up his first hit and was cruising. Instead, Carl Edwards Jr. is called on in relief and he loads the bases.
In comes Wade Davis and he gives up the dagger. A grand slam to Michael Taylor Jr. Here is the video.
Game 5 will be tomorrow night in our nation’s capital. Expect to see Kyle Hendricks vs. Gio Gonzales in that one.
