VIDEO: Kevin Durant Throws Shade at Thunder With Ridiculous Comment

Grab a beer, it’s time to have a Sunday w/ The BIGPLAY Podcast

Kevin Durant made his dumbest comment yet about leaving the Oklahoma City Thunder. The comparison between the Golden State Warriors and prior Thunder teams saw Durant claim he wasn’t on actual title contenders in OKC.

The Thunder made the NBA Finals with four stars under 25. Hell, they held a 3-1 lead over the 73 win Warriors last year before Durant played disappointing basketball to blow it.

Oklahoma City would have been one of four nearly equal contenders for the title this year if Durant stayed and that’s just a fact.

IN MY OPINION, KEVIN DURANT NEEDED TO MOVE ON. HE HAS GROWN AS A BB PLAYER THIS YEAR,BY LEAPS AND BOUNDS. I WAS SOOOO DISAPPOINTED WHEN HE LEFT OKC AND WAS A BIT MIFFED AT HIM… HE NEED TO MOVE ON AND GROW AS A PLAYER. HE HAS CERTAINLY DONE THAT. I AM VERY PROUD OF HIM. OKC WAS HIS TRAINING GROUND THO WE CAN STILL CLAIM CREDIT FOR HIM. HE WOULD BE WHERE HE IS TODAY WITHOUT THOSE OKC YEARS. GO KEVIN. BE THE BEST IN HISTORY……. CLAIM YOUR PLACE…… I AM FOR YOU. M…..OKLAHOMA

Just his opinion. Shady as it may be.

Just goes to show you shouldn’t put athletes on a pedestal. He was practically worshiped in OKC…the man could do no wrong. All it took was one move to another team & he’s suddenly the devil. Players AND fans can be fickle.

I think we all need to take a page from Durant’s book & move on.

The problem with what he did is that he lied to the Thunder management and fans sayn he was going to stay and all the while he knew full well he was planning to leave for Golden state. I have no problem with him wanting to leave but be a man about it and just say that….the issue was that he wanted to go to Golden state and not anywhere else so he lied until the trade deadline and there was nothing OKC could do. So in My opinion he left OKC dry because they were not even able to get good free agents in their attempt to keep him. He knew had he expressed that he was going to leave OKC he would not have been traded to a team like Golden state he would have went to the pelicans or some team like that. He wanted to go to a super team so he did’nt have to work as hard for a ring…I have not respect for him as a man …hes a very good ball player but as a person he has no loyalty at all…
