Mary Kay Cabot reported that Duke Johnson, running back for the Cleveland Browns, still wants to be traded.
During the video, Duke says he requested a trade a month after the Browns had put him on the trading block.
And per Jen Steer, according to Baker Mayfield, “Duke is a professional” and that things won’t be awkward.
Mayfield also added that Duke’s decision is “self-inflicted”. Without knowing how Kareem Hunt will fit into the mix (eight long games away) and with the vast improvement of the Cleveland team, it would seem like a mistake to want to leave now. Of course, Baker didn’t say ALL that but, we can only assume what he meant, especially since Duke has a lot of potential this season.
Johnson missed the voluntary press conference back in April and was MIA for OTA’s. We had already reported that Duke had requested a trade but I think the majority of us were hoping that once things settled down Duke would remain a Cleveland Brown.
It seems like Duke had taken the trade a bit personal and if things don’t go his way and he remains a Brown, hopefully, we don’t see this effect his attitude on or off the field.
