The Celtics had been rolling of late, 4 straight wins, all by large margins, and the offense had looked outstanding. Guys seemed happy and enjoying themselves and team chemistry seemed at an all-time high.
And then one quick trip down to Miami and in the midst of a blowout loss to the Heat and this happens.
Jaylen Brown and Marcus Morris were heated in the huddle, had to be separated. pic.twitter.com/iwnYDOMWeZ

Ehhhh, not a great look. Listen, stuff like this happens during the course of an NBA season. Players argue and tempers flare, but typically this is the type of thing that happens in a closed-door meeting like the Celtics had a few weeks ago after another blowout loss to the Milwaukee Bucks. It doesn’t usually occur on the bench during a timeout and especially after this team had been playing so well.
We may never know what was said in this huddle but you got to think Marcus Morris was giving Jaylen Brown the business about his subpar play thus far in the game and Brown didn’t take lightly to it and let his mouth fly.
I mean it’s not like this was a full-fledged brawl, it barely qualifies as a scuffle. And for Marcus Morris, it’s hard to look tough when you push someone and you’re the one that moves back and almost falls over a chair. Instead of shoving Jaylen he should have just got in his face and did the “hold me back” style of fighting that the NBA is famous for.
One last thing, note Kyrie Irving’s face at the very beginning and end of the video. In the beginning, he seems to be shaking his head as something Jaylen Brown is saying and at the end he if giving Brown the disappointed and “I hate this guy” face. We’ve heard rumblings of issues amongst this team for a while now and this might be a big clue to who is at the center at a lot of those issues. We all know Jaylen Brown doesn’t like coming of the bench instead of starting, that could be the root of it all.
A quick change of events from the team that dominated the Pacers on their home floor the night before and looked like they were back to being a contender to win the East. Clearly, there is a long way to go and after this nonsense, maybe some players to be traded.
