The Indians live off the long-ball as they get a GIANT win over AL-Central rival, the Minnesota Twins. Shane “Baby Baby Baby Oh!” Bieber recorded his fifth win of the 2019 season, pitching seven innings while also recording seven strikeouts and only allowing two runs. This shaped up to be, in my opinion, Shane Bieber’s best outing thus far this season.
Yes, I know that Biebs pitched a complete game shutout against the Orioles while recording 15 strikeouts, but that’s the Orioles and they’re garbage (Sorry @EHimmelheber).
Tonight’s win came off of the hottest team in baseball, as the Twins have been absolutely tearing apart everyone who steps in their way. So that fact that Bieber was able to control this game the way he did shows a lot of talent and composure for the youngster (and future ace in my opinion).
The runs for this win came off the long-ball and the long-ball alone! Frankie Lindor got straight up caliente (shoutout my high school Spanish teacher) as he SMASHED two home-runs, one being a solo shot and another being a two-run home run to put the Tribe up 3-0. That was followed by Roberto “Robo” Perez and Jake “Baby Face” Bauers waking up and hitting 2 solo home-runs themselves. Just an all-around great game to watch and a glimmer of hope for Tribe fans.
It’s great to see the bats wake up and have Shane Bieber set the tone for the rest of the series like he did today. The Tribe, as I predicted, have closed the gap in the AL Central to 10.5 games. Here’s to hoping they narrow it to 8.5 by the start of the weekend.
Tune in tomorrow night as Carrasco takes the mound and the Indians look to repeat their success at home. 7:10 pm first pitch on Sports Time Ohio or on the Fox Sports Go app. So sit back and have a mid-week beer to celebrate hump day and the Tribe victory.
