The Buccaneers come off a Week One loss to the San Fransisco 49ers hoping for a quick turnaround as they head into Charlotte for a Thursday Night Football matchup with the Panthers. The Buccaneers did little to impress in week one as Jameis Winston threw three picks (who would’ve thought?) and just could not get the job done. This is the first road game and the first division game for the Bucs so you can imagine Bruce Arians is going to come into Charlotte hot, hoping to even their season record and put Carolina into a hole early on.
The Panthers also suffered a Week One loss as they were in more of a shootout against the former NFC Champions, L.A. Rams. With Christian McCaffrey doing what he does (everything) and putting up a total of 209 yards with two touchdowns, the Panthers brought the game within three points, but could not pull off an onside kick to take their final shot at the Rams. Overall, a great offensive game for the Panthers and one that should leave the Buccaneers scared.
The Bucs have one of the worst defenses in the NFL, and with Carolina’s high-powered offense, the Bucs are going to find themselves in quite the pickle. Tampa Bay is going to have to try to slow down McCaffrey and Cam Newton, as this will prove to be one of their biggest defensive challenges this season.
