When Conor McGregor beautifully knocked out Eddie Alvarez with lighting quick combination, the Boxing and Mixed Martial Arts worlds saw the inevitable. That Conor McGregor was done in the UFC, after claiming two title belts in the span of a year. His next conquest was in the form of Floyd Mayweather.
Since then, we have gotten a back and forth between both camps. One saying the other is scared, and the usual non-sense. While it seemed like a super-fight between the two stars was far from happening, a glimmer of hope came down.

This is huge news as both fighters are expected to make over $100 million each. Each fighter seems to gain from this, as Floyd looks to break Rocky Marciano’s wins record (both stand at 49-0). With McGregor seemingly needing to last 12 rounds to prove that a Mixed Martial Artist can hang with perhaps the greatest boxer of all time.
This puts the much anticipated GGG vs Canelo Alvarez fight in early September in jeopardy. Both fighters could move to a different date, or possibly lose millions to Floyd and Conor.
The event is set to be announced soon, so there will definitely be more information to come.
