REPORT: Bills cut Kelvin Benjamin

On Tuesday, the Buffalo Bills release wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin along with veteran Andre Holmes, in a report by Ian Rapoport.

In a follow up of the original tweet, Rapoport stated that nothing wrong was done by either receiver, but the organization decided to go with younger players, as long as players that would fit the organization’s long-term plans.

Kelvin Benjamin was in the midst of a sub-par year, pulling in 23 catches for only 354 yards (average of 15.4 yards/reception) and one touchdown throughout 12 games. Throughout his time as a Bill, Benjamin racked up 39 receptions for 571 yards and two touchdowns. Andre Holmes was also not very productive this year, hauling in 12 receptions for 157 yards (average of 13.1 yards/reception) and zero touchdowns in the same amount of games. Holmes caught 25 passes for 277 yards and three touchdowns throughout the two years he spent as in Buffalo as well.
