Rajon Rondo’s Statement Looks Quite Similar to Kobe Bryant’s

Rajon Rondo was suspended one game for using anti-gay slurs at gay referee Bill Kennedy. It is unknown if Rondo knew of Kennedy’s lifestyle before using the offensive words but he issued a statement today regarding his actions.

“My actions during the game were out of frustration and emotion, period! They absolutely do not reflect my feelings toward the LGBT community. I did not mean to offend or disrespect anyone.” – Rondo (2015)

The statement looks very similar to Kobe Bryant’s when the Los Angeles Lakers star was also caught using anti-gay slurs towards an official in 2011.

“My actions were out of frustration during the heat of the game, period. The words expressed do NOT reflect my feelings towards the gay and lesbian communities and were NOT meant to offend anyone.” – Bryant (2011)

Do they have the same lazy PR team or did Rondo plagiarize Kobe?
