In the midst of a giant scandal in the NCAA, Louisville head coach Rick Pitino has told his staff that he expects to be fired.
On Tuesday, federal prosecutors in New York announced charges of fraud and corruption against 10 people involved in college basketball, including four assistant coaches — Auburn’s Chuck Person, Oklahoma State’s Lamont Evans, Arizona’s Emanuel “Book” Richardson and USC’s Tony Bland.
The FBI has said that there is “one school in Kentucky”–Louisville– in which their program tried to take in 100 thousand dollars from Adidas to a All-American High School recruit.
Tuesday evening, Pitino denied that he knew anything about this scandal.
This isn’t the first scandal the Louisville head coach has been in. The previous one, in which the program is still on probation for, was about hiring escorts to have sex with recruits.
Pitino is 416-141 in his career at Louisville. He also won a National Championship with them in 2013.
What a way to throw away a phenomenal career.
