Paul George Informs Pacers He’s Leaving Next Summer For Lakers

The future of Paul George appears to be certain if all things go according to his plan. George informed the Indiana Pacers that he will become a free agent in 2018 and is expecting to leave the franchise.

Indiana has been the basketball home of George since getting drafted back in 2010 but is looking to move to a new team. The hot rumors of George wanting to join the Los Angeles Lakers were completely true. Adrian Wojnarowski reported that George told the Pacers he will likely sign with the Lakers in free agency.

This puts Indiana in a horrible position. They shut down good trade offers this season before the deadline. The Lakers reportedly won’t offer a great package of their young assets knowing they have a huge advantage next summer to sign him without losing anyone.

Aside from the Cleveland Cavaliers or another contender going after George, the Pacers are absolutely screwed here.
