Former Bulls, Pelicans and Bucks forward Nikola Mirotic has left the NBA and has signed with FC Barcelona of the Euroleague according to multiple reports.
Mirotic had interest from the Utah Jazz, and the Dallas Mavericks heading into free agency and like Charnia reported above, Utah was prepared to offer the veteran forward a three-year deal worth $45 million according to Marc Stein of the New York Times.
The 28-year-old forward spent five seasons in the NBA after spending his first seven seasons as a professional with Real Madrid of the Euroleague. He was a first-round pick by the Houston Rockets in 2011 and subsequently was traded to Minnesota and then Chicago on draft night.
Utilized as a stretch power forward, Mirotic averaged 12.3 points and 5.9 rebounds in 319 career NBA games between Chicago, New Orleans and Milwaukee over the last five seasons. He was a career 36% three-point shooter.
