The New Orleans Saints have reportedly signed former Baltimore Ravens running back, Buck Allen.
Allen will now join what looks to be a crowded backfield consisting of Alvin Kamara and Latavius Murray. It would appear that the Saints want to have two capable running backs as a replacement for Mark Ingram who the team let walk in free agency.
Kamara should still remain the clear-cut leader as it pertains to his workload in 2019 — hopefully. But how the touches get split between Allen and Murray should be interesting. When healthy, Allen is force. Murray is also a powerful runner and was never shy to vulture the touchdowns when he was with the Minnesota Vikings.
This all makes for some murkiness when it comes to picking any Saints running back outside of Kamara when drafts start kicking off .
Perhaps head coach Sean Payton will shed some light on this in the near future.
