Washington Wizards star point guard John Wall was hoping to find an innovative way to end his turnover issues but the NBA is not allowing it. Wall stated in the offseason he wanted to pay Washington assistant coach Howard Eisley $100 each game he committed two or more turnovers.
The NBA contacted Wall before the season to alert him this was against league’s policy. Wall said they gave the following reasoning:
“They squashed that early in the season. They called us. I guess it’s betting. They said it’s league protocol. Instead, I just take him to dinner sometimes.”
Wall is averaging a career worst 4.3 turnovers this season. Good job, NBA.
