With the eighth pick in the 2019 NBA Draft, the New Orleans Pelicans Select Jaxson Hayes, forward/center out of the University of Texas.

The 6-foot-11-inch forward averaged 10 points and five rebounds a game as a freshman for the Longhorns, shooting 72 percent from the field. Hayes also averaged 2.2 blocks a game, making him a threat on defense as well.

The Pelicans now solidify the center position, which was occupied by a man named Anthony Davis, who was traded to the Los Angelos Lakers just last week.

The Pelicans also took Zion Williamson number one overall, as well as acquired Lonzo Ball, Josh Hart, and Brandon Ingram in the Anthony Davis trade, making this team an interesting one for the 2019-2020 NBA season.
