The Dallas Mavericks have agreed to a two-year deal with former 76ers’ center Boban Marjanovic, according to Stadium and The Athletic’s Shams Charania.
The 7′-3″, 290-pound Serbian averaged 7.3 points and 4.6 rebounds across 58 games last year while splitting time with the Los Angeles Clippers and Philadelphia. His play improved after being traded to the 76ers, playing behind Joel Embiid.
Marjanovic will join another 7′-3″ player in Kristaps Porzingis, meaning Dallas will possess the two tallest players in the league. The Mavericks get a quality backup big at a reasonable price tag, and they can fit him under the mid-level exception without touching the $22-$23 million they have left in cap space.
Unfortunately, with Tobias Harris re-signing in Philadelphia this ultimately ends the “Bobi and Tobi” bromance. The two have spent the past three seasons together with the Detroit Pistons, Clippers and 76ers and had were featured in multiple short video series together.
