The Tribe have announced that All-Star, fan-favorite, certified bad-ass Francisco Lindor is set to join the club this Friday as they return home from a 9-game road trip to be “re-assessed.” He’s played two games in AAA Columbus, is scheduled to play again today (Thursday) at Shortstop, and already has one moon-shot, piss missile, solo-home-run in his rehab assignment. There’s no official date for when he’ll actually play with the Indians again, but it’s speculated that he will play at some point this weekend.
That’s it folks. It’s all over for everyone else in the MLB. Frankie is about to come back this weekend, hit another few dingers, and begin his reign of terror. I cannot wait for Lindor to officially suit back up for the Indians, and crush the souls and dreams of every man, woman, and child who mutters up the courage to walk their chapped behinds into Progressive Field (the Jake).
If I’m Tito Francona, I’m slipping this doctor who is “re-assessing” Lindor a $20 dollar bill and a gift card to GV Artwork and Slyman’s Deli and telling him “Frankie looks pretty solid huh? Wink, wink.”
Here’s to hoping we can get the best damn shortstop in baseball back out on the field this weekend. Sit back, have a beer, and enjoy the Indians sweeping the Mariners and moving onto the Atlanta “no good, dirty rotten, pig stealing” Braves.
Cheers friends, Jiggy
