The Ball family isn’t having their greatest week. Big Baller Brand shoes aren’t flying off the shelf, the Lakers are struggling early…but both seem minor compared to UCLA product LiAngelo Ball’s current living arrangements….in a Chinese prison.
Per Goodman of ESPN:
BREAKING: UCLA frosh LiAngelo Ball, Cody Riley & Jalen Hill arrested for shoplifting in China, sources told ESPN. Bruins play Ga Tech Friday https://t.co/k64IDyO81E
— Jeff Goodman (@GoodmanESPN) November 7, 2017
Update: Ball and the two other UCLA freshman have been released on bail as of this morning, and will face sentencing in the coming days…not great timing given that the Bruins kick things off on Friday.
LaVar Ball had previously scheduled a press conference in Shanghai, yet was advised to abstain until all three young men have been released on bail.
The sentence for shoplifting carries a 3-10 year sentence if convicted.
