Le’Veon Bell is making it clear that he doesn’t want the Pittsburgh Steelers to hit him with the franchise tag for the second straight offseason. The talented running back wants to get paid what he believes is market value instead of getting a mediocre contract through a loophole.
Bell said he will consider retirement if he doesn’t a fat contract.
“It will eventually come down to me playing on the tag or not. They tag me again, it will be me saying, ‘OK, do I want to play on the tag or do I not want to play on the tag?’ That’s what it comes down to.
I’ve made a lot of money, I’m happy where I’m at, I’ve got a good family — I don’t really need to play football.”
Bell also stated he has already done everything he wanted to in football aside from win a Super Bowl. This terrifying news for Steelers fans could be good if he has nothing to lose during this postseason run.
