CLEVELAND, OH– At 18-12, the Cavs have shown that they are great at offense, bad at defense, and horrible on effort.
After numerous reports of a locker room rift between coach David Blatt and players, Cleveland.com reports that LeBron may head for greener pastures if things don’t improve.
“James, who turns 30 today, has no intention of compromising his prime years playing for a sputtering organization. He can opt out of his contract at the end of the season and become a free agent.
Given the massive scrutiny he would endure if he departed Cleveland a second time, if his hand is forced, I’m told he won’t hesitate to make the appropriate business decision if it means bolting.”
Let’s revisit the LeBron “I’m Coming Home” letter.
“It will be a long process, much longer than it was in 2010. My patience will get tested. I know that. I’m going into a situation with a young team and a new coach. I will be the old head. But I get a thrill out of bringing a group together and helping them reach a place they didn’t know they could go.”
Fuck it I want to win!
At this point in time in 2010, the Miami Heat were 21-9 compared to the Cavs 18-12. Not a huge difference in the W/L column.
LeBron opting out after one year would be a PR nightmare, and not one that LeBron would be willing to face. He’s stuck being the “old head” and riding out his prime in wine and gold.
So it’s time to step it up, Cleveland.
