With Kobe Bryant and Dwayne Wade’s decline as they’ve aged, the candidates in the battle for best NBA shooting guard have changed. It’s now a debate between James Harden, Klay Thompson and Jimmy Butler as to who is the best overall shooting guard.
Thompson is currently on a team with a 26-1 record that also happens to be the defending champions and claims that makes him the best. Golden State’s shooting guard said the following:
“I’m going to go with myself. When you play with a free mind and you play thinking you’re not hurt and you’re healthy, that’s when you’re playing your best. I want to continue playing like this, get better every month.”
While Thompson obviously adds to the Warriors, he’s the third most valuable player on his team. Harden and Butler have to do much more for their teams to achieve success. Still, you have to believe you’re the best at what you do to make it in sports so you can’t blame Thompson.
