Bad news for Kevin Durant and Golden State Warriors fans. Durant is dealing with a strained calf injury on the same leg that endured the Grade 2 MCL sprain and tibial bone bruise that kept him out for a month.
The calf injury didn’t force him out of the Warriors’ Game 1 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers. Durant played great with 32 points and 11 rebounds in the close win.
Luckily, the strained calf doesn’t appear to be serious long term, but the Warriors may very well sit him out for a few games to be safe. Durant isn’t necessarily needed for Golden State to handle the 8th seeded Blazers giving the team the option to rest him if need be.
