Following Friday night’s news of Josh Gordon’s return to the team, the Patriots received more good news on Tuesday. Julian Edelman passed his physical and has been cleared to return to practice with the team, per Field Yates.

He had suffered an injury prior to the start of training camp and has been sidelined in both preseason games and has been limited to light warm-ups in training camp up to this point. Edelman was seen at practice on Tuesday morning in full pads and a helmet before the news officially broke that he had passed his medical physical and had been cleared to play.

Edelman and Gordon are both likely in the starting lineup for the Patriots’ offense and the last two weeks of preseason will determine who will join them. This leaves only Demaryius Thomas on the non-football injury list for receivers in New England. Thomas is still recovering from an Achilles injury he suffered last season when he was a member of the Texans. Thomas has been taking steps with his recovery and his workouts are increasing in intensity every day.
