Jimmy Butler Already Causing Waves in Philly?

Reports are swirling around today that Philadelphia 76ers guard Jimmy Butler has challenged his head coach Brett Brown about the style and effectiveness of the offensive system of the team.

Apparently Butler was very vocal and disrespectful in a team film meeting that occurred in Portland recently and voiced his displeasure about the team running a free flowing offense instead of a more pick and roll oriented style.

It’s not the best of news for Philly fans considering they are only about 25 games into the Jimmy Butler experience. Everyone still vividly remembers the manner in which he basically forced himself out of Minnesota earlier this season.

There was questions about how this offense would work with Butler considering the Sixers already had two ball dominant players in Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons. For the most part it has worked out well, with the Sixers record at 15-6 in games where Butler has played. Even still, Butler hasn’t been thrilled with the overall flow of things and it hasn’t taken long for him to get vocal about it.

As much as Jimmy Butler can be known to be a dick when things aren’t going to his liking, he seems to just be an avid competitor that just wants to win. If the Sixers can keep improving and winning games it’s believed that for the most part things will stay amicable in Philadelphia. But if things start going south, it may be an entirely different story.

The Butler, Embiid, Simmons combo is unlike many big 3’s that have been formed in the past because each player is widely considered to have a big ego. No one thus far has relegated their role to the 2nd or third option, even if it’s widely considered that Embiid is the #1.

Moving forward the rest of this season it will be interesting to see how this team gels and comes together, with such strong personalities in one locker room it has the potential to ignite like kerosene. It won’t be great news for Sixers’ fans, but it will certainly be terrific content.

Embiid complains about his role in the offense, and everyone says it’s Jimmy Butler’s fault. Butler complains, and he’s a cancer. Sixers never beat upper level teams. Anyone just stop to think that maybe it’s just a shitty offense and the coach isn’t that good?

Glad wolves got rid of him. Wolves will end up winners of that trade in the long run.

Dude is a cancer. From a bulls fan that wanted nothing but to see him succeed… dude can kick rocks now. He’s like the new melo. Could be an amazing player and scorer but won’t win rings cause of his attitude and self first mentality.
