Why Jerry Jones Must Hire Tony Romo as the Cowboys’ new offensive coordinator

The Cowboys should hire Tony Romo as their new offensive coordinator

Last weekend the NFL conference championships took place, and like many others, Jerry Jones was sitting at home or doing whatever billionaire’s do for football games when their team isn’t playing.

As the Saints fell to the Rams, Jones probably clicked over to CBS to watch the Patriots play the Chiefs, but most of all listen to his golden boy, Tony Romo. He most likely turned the volume up and smiled as he watched the best performance of the whole weekend and it wasn’t by anyone on the playing field.

Pure magician

Romo looked like he was using voice control on Madden to torch the Chiefs defense. The man deserves a chance to coach in the NFL. So how classic of a move would it be for Jones to hire who is likely his second favorite quarterback of all time to be his offensive coordinator for “America’s Team” alongside his golden boy head coach? It doesn’t get any better than this. The storyline in Dallas would be incredible if they succeeded. It’s a 30-for-30 story in the making, and if they don’t succeed, the internet will be filled with amazing memes and Cowboys fan meltdowns.

This literally sounds like the movie, Any Given Sunday.

The entertainment behind Romo coming back and replacing Scott Linehan, calling plays into the QB helmet who replaced him; and to make this even better – bring Dez Bryant back to be the wide receiver coach.

Mr. Jones, you love entertainment, so give the people the greatest show on turf. Prescott, Garrett, and Romo. Sign it and book it.

Lol Tyson literally lost every single time he ever fought an elite boxer, and a few times against non elite boxers. But he’s gonna destroy Ali? Not even close? Not a chance. This dude literally asked “who did Ali ever beat?” Lol who the hell did Tyson ever beat??? Tyson fights were wildly entertaining, but he’s super overrated.

Joe Frazier beat Ali and Tyson is the same prototype fighter with more power

people riding Ali act like he never got touched up, he never fought anyone with KO power like Mike.

Michael Fabian would be awesome I believe part of Daks success his rookie year was having Romo in his ear the entire season. But unfortunately I dont see it happening Romo has it to good right now with cbs. Only way i can see this happening is if Romo gets bored in a couple years and wants to challenge himself. For now I think it’s safe to say were gonna be stuck with Kellan Moore lol

I love how fast people jump on him…..6th best QBR ever…..yes above Payton Manning and severs hall of fame guys. He has an awful lot of comeback wins too…..ohh and the all time passing lesder in Dallas. More touch downs and way more yards then Aikman. If Jones had got him a solid Defense and an O line early in his career he may have won a bowl or 2…but we kept sprinting for guys like Julius Jones, Marion Barber, Felix Jones, and ignored the line…..then made trades to get Roy William’s? If we would have spent half the effort on the oline like we finally did after he had several injuries he would have been very successful.

I feel like all of them Romo talk is a bit overhyped. Yes, he’s good, but still has a lot to prove. I’d agree with the hire tho. Anything is better than what is being proposed.

Since he’s calling plays before they happen on offense – shouldn’t he be a DEFENSIVE COORDINATOR? When he was calling offenses as QB he was rubbish.

At CBS he does a day of preparations, and announces a game that he loves, for 3.5 hours, one day a week, for 18ish weeks. He gets paid well to do it. He gets to spend time with his wife and kids, and gets to play golf at his leisure. Why would he leave that?

    • Sandro Serpico

      January 24, 2019 at 2:42 pm

JJ Kingsley I’m gonna assume that someone as intelligent as Romo doesn’t just do a day of preparation. I’m willing to bet he’s constantly watching film etc. nevertheless , I see your point.

Romo would be too big a threat to Garrett. And the bitchass front office doesn’t like to ruffle feathers that way

  38. Michael Cadle

    January 24, 2019 at 2:09 pm

Romo would be a better defensive coordinator, he knows offenses so well he could be an amazing defensive coach as he knows what’s going to happen every play

    • Cody Suite

      January 24, 2019 at 2:11 pm

Michael Cadle was thinking the same thing

    • Beau Brom

      January 24, 2019 at 3:44 pm

All players know the things Romo says. Jason Garrett knows just as much, if not more than Romo. Easier to read the plays when you in the booth tho I’m sure compare to heat of the moment

    • Michael Cadle

      January 24, 2019 at 3:46 pm

Diasgree Beau Brom, Romo is a football genius

  39. Rico Andretti

Tony stay that ass in the booth my guy!

  40. Jeremy Onyshczak

    January 24, 2019 at 2:05 pm

Why on EARTH would Tony leave his cushy announce gig to work for that organization?

    • Steven Heard

      January 24, 2019 at 2:11 pm

Jeremy Onyshczak Romo is basically Jerry’s son so why not. He would also have the balls to stand up for his choices which would get him fired but hell it couldn’t hurt to interview him.

      January 24, 2019 at 2:12 pm

Ppl think he’d be good at it just cuz Romo calls plays before they happen in the booth?? Just fyi that’s common knowledge stuff to players who been on the league. Especially a qb in the league. He doesn’t know anything that Jason Garrett don’t know
