Boston Celtics forward Jae Crowder sprained his left ACL after a backhand by Cleveland Cavaliers guard J.R. Smith in Game 4 of the first-round playoff series between the two last year. The two teams will meet on Tuesday and Crowder hopes Smith will issue an apology.
“I hope he apologizes Tuesday, to be honest with you. I hope it wasn’t intentional. But if he doesn’t, then we’ll play ball.”
Smith hit Crowder a few plays after Kevin Love suffered a season-ending injury after getting tangled up with Kelly Olynyk.
Should Smith apologize? Maybe. Will he? Probably not.
