Boxing started out as bare knuckle fighting. The rules were not clear. They were made during each fight. The first set of rules was a list of seven rules. They became know as “Mr. Broughton’s Rules” . A second set of rules know as the London Prize Ring Rules with light changed were made. The last set of rules to be enforced were theMarquess of Queensberry rules . Fighters now had to wear gloves, which gave them the protection to fight longer. This change took effect in 1867.

Conclusion

Nobody can prove what Wilder’s true intentions are going into the fight. The world can only go by his words.. If the fight is addressed by the rules already in place, then what he said is true. If a tragedy does occur and the Boxing Commission decides to prosecute Wilder, then fighters that are still living who have killed other boxers have to go to trial also. This is not unheard of and everyone is aware of what can happen in boxing. This is a big issue because of how Wilder said it, not what he said. The fight is set for Saturday, May 18 at the Barclays Centre in New York City, N.Y.

Saturday May 18, Dominic Breazeale will take on Deontay Wilder for the WBC Hevyweight Championship
