Power made a splash Tuesday by signing former Ghost Ballers’ big Carlos Boozer one day after Triplets traded for Jamario Moon.
To make room on the roster, the team has waived Mychel Thompson. The signing comes after Power learned that reigning Defensive Player of the Year Chris “Birdman” Andersen suffered a torn ACL in Week 4 and will be out for the rest of the season.
Boozer was waived Monday after one and a half seasons with Ghost Ballers. The former co-captain was one of the best big man in the game last season averaging 15.1 points and 9.6 rebounds a game.
However, Boozer has scarcely played this season for unknown reasons. He’s played minimal minutes in two games and has yet to record a point during the 2019 season.
Thompson signed as an undrafted free agent following an injury to Ryan Gomes. He’s been the team’s leading rebounder, but is averaging just under four points a game and has failed to hit a three in 10 attempts.
Triplets acquired Moon from Ghost Ballers Monday and originally it looked like a move that would have put them well ahead of the pack. Now with Power adding Boozer, it’s an arms race at this point in the season.
As for where Ghost Ballers stand, they added former Atlanta Hawk Solomon Jones to replace Boozer Tuesday. Jones will make his BIG3 debut in Week 7 following the team’s bye week.
