Per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, forward Furkan Korkmaz is returning to play with the Philadelphia 76ers on a two-year deal. Korkmaz, 22, is entering his third year in NBA after being drafted by the 76ers with 26th-overall pick in the 2016 NBA draft. Korkmaz is looking to get more playing time after only playing in 62 regular season games in two seasons.
Korkmaz’s NBA regular season averages are 4.9 points, 1.9 rebounds, 0.9 assists in 12.2 minutes played per a game. Korkmaz appeared in five playoff games for the 76ers in two seasons averaging 4.4 points, 1.2 rebounds, 1.0 assists in 7.6 minutes played per a game. Korkmaz has also spent time in the G-League, appearing in nine games with the Delaware 87ers averaging 15.4 points, 5.1 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 1.2 steals in 31.9 minutes played per a game.
Korkmaz, a native of Turkey won two Turkish Cups, a Turkish Supercup and won the Champions League Best Young Player award in 2017. Playing in 40 games for Anadolu Efes of the EuroLeague from 2014-2017, Korkmaz averaged 3.0 points, 1.1 rebounds, 0.7 assists in 9.7 minutes played per a game. Korkmaz is a three-time BSL All-Star.
