The San Antonio Spurs met the Golden State Warriors in a highly anticipated matchup and the Warriors smashed the Spurs 120-90. While the loss was tough, Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich wasn’t too beat up as he managed to take a dig at the Cleveland Cavaliers organization with his first words following the game.
“I’m glad my general manager wasn’t in my locker room or I might’ve gotten fired.”
Many head coaches have been speaking up on behalf of David Blatt after his firing from Cleveland. The unprecedented move to fire a coach with a 30-11 record upset the coaching circle and Popovich is the most high-profiled coach. It was only a matter of time before he gave his two cents in a way that only Pop can.
