Flores was named head coach of the Patriots’ division rival Miami Dolphins in a deal that became official after the Patriots’ season ended.
There had been rumors of bringing on Greg Schiano to replace Flores once it became known that Flores had taken the position in Miami but as of today, it is all but finalized. Schiano has spent the past three years serving and Ohio State’s defensive coordinator. He has had some experience coaching in the NFL but it was short lived. He spent less than a calendar year serving as the head coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers but was fired after one season.
Schiano’s time at Ohio State could also be utilized in the upcoming NFL draft. New England has 12 picks in the 2019 draft and Schiano’s first-hand experience at the college level will be involved in the scouting of players coming out of college.
