Power’s Glen “Big Baby” Davis avoided a suspension from the league after being ejected last week in his team’s 50-43 loss to Trilogy.
Davis was ejected after arguing a foul call with the referees. The real issue came on his way out when he took off his jersey and shorts and threw them into the crowd.
The former Boston Celtic issued an apology via Instagram and the BIG3 announced he will be “significantly fined” for his actions, but will avoid suspension. This would have been the third suspension in league history had they followed through.
Allen Iverson was suspended in the league’s inaugural season for missing a game without giving notice. Last season, Metta World Peace was handed a suspension for kicking a ball into the stands in frustration of a foul he received.
While it’s not warranted to strip on live television, the crowd seemed to appreciate his showmanship and interaction. Besides, one lucky fan got to keep his game worn jersey.
As for the fan that received his shorts, well, I wouldn’t call him “lucky” but it will definitely be a game that they remember.
