Giants Draft Pick Corey Ballentine Victim of a Shooting; Teammate Killed

Corey Ballentine, 6th round draft pick for the Giants was injured in a shooting Saturday night.

According to Ian Rapoport, Cory Ballentine and teammate Dwane Simmons were the victims of a shooting at a party Saturday night after the NFL Draft. Corey survived but his friend Dwane sadly passed away from his injuries.

Per the report, Ballentine is recovering in the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Corey was drafted on Saturday by the New York Giants, he went in the 6th round at pick 180. What started with an exciting life-changing event has turned tragic for everyone involved.

Per Janelle Griffith at NBCNews.com, the family of Simmons is looking for justice and anyone who might have information regarding the shooting.
