Well about friggin time. I really have no idea why a third round offensive linemen took this long to sign his contract, especially when the numbers for such things are pretty much already figured out before the draft even happens. But, that’s all behind us and the Dolphins have all their draft picks under contract.
Fortunately, Deiter didn’t miss any camp time, but it’s just a good feeling knowing that all of the Dolphins draft picks are all in and that weird feeling of what’s going on with Deiter not signing is over with.
Deiter is a guy who will be penciled in as a starter from game 1. I’d expect him to occupy one of the guard spots, who also can play center if they need him to. If last year was any indication, he’ll be playing center at some point. Plus, he’s from Wisconsin, so you know he’ll be at least alright. O-Linemen from Wisconsin are as consistent as the sun rising and I won’t hear anything to the contrary.
With the NBA and NHL finished it’s nearly time to start really thinking about the NFL. Camps don’t start until the end of July/early August, but I realize we’re all getting jazzed for football season to begin. Enjoy your Summer and before you know it will be time to start talking fantasy football drafts, which leads into talking about predictions for the NFL season. Our time will come to fully immerse ourselves in everything football. Until then, seize your Summer and know that the Dolphins and Michael Dieter are ready to get to work.
UPDATE: Here’s what it looked like. Amazing stuff right?
