Yesterday early results of the fan voting for the NBA All-Star game had Derrick Rose as the 2nd leading vote getter amongst guards in the Western Conference. It shows that many fans are rallying around the former MVP player and are giving him the props he deserves for having his best season in recent memory.

Rose is averaging 18.9 ppg and 4.8 ast for the Minnesota Timberwolves this season and is in many peoples eyes a shoo-in for the MIP (Most Improved Player).
It’s great to see the fans still behind a guy like Rose who has struggled to stay healthy for the majority of the past 6 years, there were points in his struggle where he wasn’t sure he even wanted to play basketball anymore.
I can’t imagine what it’s like to go from one of the greatest basketball players on the planet to a shell of your former self. Rose certainly dealt with those trials and tribulations and has come out the other side. It’s an inspirational story if I’ve even heard one and I look forward to the 30 for 30 documentary done on his life one day.
So I encourage everyone to keep voting for Drose, if the voting ended today he would be a starter in the All-Star game. Maybe he doesn’t quite deserve that, but then again maybe he does more than anyone else.
looking at those first All-Star voting returns like…
