When the Cincinnati Reds got a hold of second baseman, Derek Dietrich, no one though he would make the impact that he has. The twenty-nine year old veteran out of Cleveland played six of his seven seasons with the Miami Marlins. In those six years with the Marlins, Dietrich’s best performance was his last season in 2018. He had 499 at bats with 16 home runs and 45 RBI’s. In his 122 at bats with the Reds, Dietrich has already exceeded his career home run record with 17 with 36 RBIs.
Cincinnati has a well rounded player in Dietrich, and there are no signs of his production slowing down. Dietrich has also been solid on defense. The NL Central is extremely close. We’re only halfway into the season and the Reds can be the ones to represent the division in the playoffs this year.
