Aaron Rodgers (Green Bay Packers) $7500
Aaron Rodgers is one of the few matchup proof quarterbacks but when the price is this high, you have to factor in the opponent. Rodgers will face the Denver Broncos and the best defense in the NFL this season. Here’s a surprising stat: Rodgers has not defeated a winning team on the road since 2012. While he likely has put up solid numbers in many of those games, you can’t trust him enough to pay the big bucks against an elite defense.
Andrew Luck (Indianapolis Colts) $7400
As someone who praised Andrew Luck last week, I’m jumping off the bandwagon. Luck had another successful fantasy game throwing for yards and touchdowns late but he looked pretty bad. Heading on the road to face a very good Carolina Panthers defense is terrifying and Luck will struggle for yet another game. You can’t bank on garbage time scoring saving him every week.
Peyton Manning (Denver Broncos) $6400
The only starting quarterbacks with less fantasy points per game than Peyton Manning this season are Nick Foles and Matt Cassel. It’s over. We’re done. Good night. Thanks for the years of fantasy greatness, Peyton. You’ll be missed.
