This is the 12th installment of a series of articles covering each player on the Cleveland Browns roster. There will be a new player released every day from now until the Browns preseason begins. If you enjoy (tolerate) this article, I encourage you to check back each day to read each one. I try to keep them short and sweet.
#61- Wyatt Ray- DE- Boston College
I call this guy Wyatt Ray “Romano” because everybody loves him, except opposing quarterbacks. I don’t actually know if everyone likes him, but after extensive research (watching one highlight film on Youtube) I know I love him. Also, much like the comic, Ray seems to be a stand-up guy.
Ray had a productive senior season for Boston College, recording nine sacks and 11.5 tackles for loss. He had respectable combine numbers as well, posting a 4.8 40 time and registering a 34 inch vertical. To put that into perspective, that is about 32 inches higher than Danny Shelton. Please don’t fact check that.
As I’ve eluded to in previous breakdowns, the Browns defensive line is pretty stacked and it is going to be difficult for any of these undrafted free agents to crack the roster. If Gerald McCoy somehow ends up in Cleveland, that gives them five pro-bowl caliber players along the line. That leaves 3-5 spots open for everyone else.
