This is the 30th installment of a series of articles covering each player on the Cleveland Browns roster. There will be a new player released every day from now until the Browns preseason begins. If you enjoy (tolerate) this article, I encourage you to check back each day to read each one. I try to keep these articles short and sweet.
#40- Tigie Sankoh– S- Greenwich
The most interesting thing about Tigie Sankoh is that his name is Tigie Sankoh. That and he is originally from England. He joined the Browns practice squad last season through the NFL’s International Player Pathway Program. This signing, coupled with Dorsey bringing in the Scottish Hammer to compete at punter, shows that the Browns really aren’t “America’s Team”, they are the “World’s Team” (except for Canada because they are probably still salty that Cleveland shipped them Johnny Manziel. Sorry).
Sankoh played at the American Football Academy at Filton College (I’m sure we have plenty of their fans reading this article) before joining the London Warriors (this is also a football team). Apparently, Britain doesn’t keep track of statistics because I couldn’t find any numbers for the young Brit. I’m just going to assume they were eye-popping. Some are calling him the British Damarious Randall (by “some”, I mean myself).
I am by no means the be all end all when it comes to Cleveland Browns knowledge, but the fact that this guy has been part of the Browns organization for a year now and I’ve never heard of him prior to writing this article doesn’t bode well for the man from across the pond. The Browns have been adding depth to their defensive backfield the last two offseasons which will make it even tougher for Sankoh to crack this roster. However, I am sure this preseason will be a jolly good time for the bloke.
