This is the sixth installment of a series of articles covering each player on the Cleveland Browns roster. There will be a new player released every day from now until the Browns preseason begins. If you enjoy (tolerate) this article, I encourage you to check back each day to read each one.
#19- Dorian Baker– WR- Kentucky
This rookie wideout is from Cleveland, has the last name Baker, and wears Bernie Kosar’s old jersey number. It’s like he was genetically engineered in a lab somewhere to become the perfect “Brown”. The only thing that could make him more “Cleveland” would be if Jim Brown was his grandpa.
He is a big receiver who showed promise early on in his college career. He was hampered by a hamstring injury in 2016 and missed the entire 2017 season. When he returned last year for his senior season, he was only able to record 13 catches in 12 games. I’m no statistician, but that doesn’t seem good to me.
It appears that Baker will have to have a great summer to earn a roster spot this season. The Browns already have Odell Beckham, Jr., Jarvis Landry, Rashard Higgins, and Antonio Callaway who are all poised for big seasons. All reports have said that Jaelen Strong has looked good as well. Personally, I will be pulling for the young Ohio native this upcoming season.
