This is the 36th installment of a series of articles covering each player on the Cleveland Browns roster. A new player will be previewed every day from now until the Browns preseason begins. If you enjoy (tolerate) this article, I encourage you to check back each day to read each one. I try to keep these articles short and sweet.

#15- Damon Sheehy-Guiseppi– WR- Phoenix College

Perhaps the coolest thing about this young wide out is that his last name, Guiseppi, is really fun to say when you pronounce it like an old Italian pizza shop owner. Also, I’m pretty sure Phoenix College is an online school so I’m not exactly sure how he played for them. Perhaps he was a heck of a Madden player and John Dorsey figured, “why not”? The Browns general manager is so ahead of the rest of the NFL he is already bringing in elite E-gamers to improve his squad. Dorsey is playing chess while David Gettleman is eating crayons.

After doing some research, it turns out he is not an E-gamer and Phoenix College does indeed have a college football program. In fact, Sheehy-Guiseppi has a very interesting backstory. He was an exceptional kick returner in two seasons of college back in 2015-16. The gap in his football resume came from him dropping out of Phoenix in pursuit of a Division I scholarship (Phoenix College wouldn’t give him a full ride, even though he was a junior college All-American.) He never received the D-I offer due to multiple circumstances, including being short credit hours to transfer.

Sheehy-Guiseppi’s only shot to make the Browns roster this season is from kick and punt returning. He didn’t play as a receiver in his two collegiate seasons and has no real experience at any position other than return specialist. He ran a 4.38 40-yard dash for the Browns in a workout this spring and was elite at the junior college level, but there is obviously a big jump from that to the NFL. A hard-working, dedicated kick returner from a small school? Maybe he will have a little Josh Cribbs in him.
