WATCH: Bruins Goal Disallowed Due to Controversial Interference

A goal that might have sealed game 3 for the Bruins was overruled due to a controversial call by officials.

In the third period of Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals matchup between the Boston Bruins and Carolina Hurricanes, a goal that would have given Boston a late 3-1 lead was overturned due to a controversial goalie interference call.

Jake DeBrusk was attempting to screen the Hurricanes’ goalie, Curtis McElhinney while McElhinney was approaching the blue line and as he was crossing the crease, the two collided and Torey Krug’s shot had found the back of the net. The officials initially ruled it as interference, but Bruce Cassidy challenged the call and it turned out to be a lot closer of a call when slowed down.
