Christmas Party Confusion Played Role in Eagles Firing Chip Kelly

One of the final straws in the Philadelphia Eagles decision to fire Chip Kelly involved the scheduling of the team’s annual Christmas party. Kelly apparently refused to attend the party on its usual Monday night because he felt it would interfere with game planning. The event was moved to a Friday afternoon to appease Kelly.

Owner Jeffrey Lurie did not like this and it played a role in the decision to fire Kelly before the season ended. The party debacle was just a small factor of many with the team losing the biggest game of the season shortly after.
