The Miami Heat and Cleveland Cavaliers could be close to pulling off a trade that gets rid of unwanted players on each roster. Heat management badly wants to shed the contract of Hassan Whiteside following things getting ugly between both sides last year. The Cavaliers have been hoping to deal Tristan Thompson and Kyle Korver all summer.
Recent reports suggest that both teams have interest in finding a way to complete the deal ahead of the season. Cleveland would hope to return to the playoffs with the talent of Whiteside potentially adding a second star alongside Kevin Love. Miami would take anything for Whiteside at this point.
The biggest takeaway here from this is that both teams to lose LeBron James this decade will likely be in a tough place for quite some time.
