Ian Rapoport reports that the Cleveland Browns have hired former Cardinals head coach, Steve Wilks, as their defensive coordinator.
The #Browns are working on a deal to hire former #AZCardinals head coach Steve Wilks as their defensive coordinator, sources say. A strong hire to work with all that talent as new coach Freddie Kitchens builds his staff.

Wilks, 49, gained plenty of interest as a coordinator, following his ousting from the Arizona Cardinals. Wilks is one of the top defensive minds in the game today, as he was the Carolina defensive coordinator in 2017. The base of his defense is a 4-3, which is tailor-made for the Browns’ personnel. Since the departure of Gregg Williams, the Browns sought to find a suitable replacement, which they have discovered in Wilks. They added a solid veteran coordinator for the first-year head coach, Freddie Kitchens. Look for the defense to improve in 2019.
