The Oakland Raiders have been selected as the team that will be featured by the HBO series, Hard Knocks.
This should be an extremely entertaining series due to the multitude of huge personalities that the team has acquired throughout the offseason .
A few players to look out for during Hard Knocks include Antonio Brown and Vontaze Burfict. These two were a part of teams that rivaled each other. Brown a former wide receiver for the Pittsburgh Steelers and Burfict a former linebacker for the Cincinnati Bengals, had a feud that went back from 2016. Burfict hit Brown in the head with his helmet, which in response, Brown called him an “idiot”. I for one, can’t wait to see how they act when they are a part of the same team.
Another player to look out for is newly acquired offensive lineman, Richie Incognito. Incognito is a ticking timebomb. He is labeled as a bully to his own teammates, and a basketcase by many others. Incognito was arrested last August in a funeral home in Arizona. Incognito was arrested for threatening to shoot the workers of the funeral home and reportedly attempting to cut off his deceased father’s head. Incognito’s bullying was also named as one of the factors that his former Miami Dolphins teammate, Jonathan Martin, retired from the team and contributed to his suicidal thoughts. Raiders GM, Mike Mayock justified the signing by saying “You can’t have all Boy Scouts”. This is not a guy that I personally would want to be around, but he is a guy that I look forward to watching on television.
I’m not sure if any Hard Knocks will dethrone last years’ featuring the Cleveland Browns as being the best one, but this year has potential to do it. Everyone grab your popcorn because this is going to be very entertaining!
