The Kansas City Chiefs have signed Pro Bowl receiver Tyreek Hill to a three-year, $54 million extension, which includes $35.2 million guaranteed and a $5.8 million signing bonus. The details were first reported by NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
The extension follows an eventful offseason for Hill, in which he was investigated for child abuse. Once the NFL closed the investigation without punishing Hill, the Chiefs were interested in extending the fourth-year receiver.
Hill has outperformed his draft stock thus far, accumulating 3,255 receiving yards and 34 total touchdowns in three years after being drafted in the fifth round of the 2016 draft.
Third-year quarterback Patrick Mahomes will benefit from the signing, as he will continue to grow with Hill, who was entering the final year of his contract. The two will remain a dynamic duo in the NFL for years to come.
