The Atlanta Hawks are acquiring the 4th overall pick in Thursday’s NBA Draft from the New Orleans Pelicans, per Adrian Wojnarowski.
The deal won’t be official until July 6 as the 4th pick is currently owned by the Los Angeles Lakers, but LA has agreed to move it to the Pelicans in the Anthony Davis trade.
Pelicans GM David Griffin now has flipped it to Atlanta and has acquired even more assets in addition to flipping Davis to the Lakers for Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram, Josh Hart, and future first-round picks.
Atlanta will likely select DeAndre Hunter with the fourth overall pick, according to Wojnarowski, as they look to build around Trae Young and John Collins who they drafted last year. The Hawks also have the 10th overall pick in Thursday’s draft.
