While this years’ draft class is loaded with offensive talent, Bowen Byram stands out as a top defensive prospect. He’s regarded as one of the more well-rounded players and his numbers show it. Byram is coming off his best season on the ice with the Vancouver Giants, tallying 71 points in 67 games, 26 of which were goals scored.
He’s taken a major step forward in his young career, having only generated 27 points from 71 games in the previous two years. He brings the ability to skate well with the puck and find open line mates, making him equally dangerous with a man advantage.
Byram joins an absolutely stacked Avalanche franchise, already focused on getting the most from young skaters. It’s predicted Colorado will be near the top of the league the next few years and Byram might end up lifting the Cup very soon.
