The Milwaukee Brewers have acquired star outfielder Christian Yellich from the Miami Marlins. The pieces headed to Miami are top prospect Lewis Brinson, Monte Harrison, Insan Diaz and Jordan Yamamoto, according to Ken Rosenthal.
News flash, that is a TON to give up for Yellich.
Christian Yelich traded to #Brewers, sources tell The Athletic.

Yellich is in the prime of his career and has five years of control. The Brewers are in the midst of a rebuild and this certainly puts them in the conversation of playoffs for next season. Yellich hit .282 with 18 homers last season. The question is, are the Brewers done? It doesn’t seem likely. They’ve committed to one major deal, expect to see another.
Only time will tell, but a starting pitcher could make them a legitimate contender. Brewers are also still engaged in talks with Lorenzo Cain, another outfielder. This would crowd the outfield and could bring Ryan Braun’s future back into question.
Updates are coming.
